This year's Varsity team returns a handful of players that were a part of last year's Cinderalla team (the first Venice team to win a CIF SoCal Championship in any sport) that went all the way to the State Final game in Sacramento. There are also a handful of new faces that are excited to be a part of the program. This year's schedule is one of the toughest in the City, as we face off against several high profile private schools as well as some of the best teams in LAUSD. The Varsity team is led by returning coach David Galley. The 2021-22 LA Times Coach of the Year, has been leading the Gondos for the past 13 seasons. Aundre Cummings is the assistant coach. Aundre coaches a NIKE EYBL team in the summer and has his own middle school AAU team named 7 Days. This is his 4th year with the Gondoliers.

Our lower level teams are full of young talent that should keep Venice High School near the top of the city for several years to come. Our JV team is led by returning coach Matt Waller. Coach Waller has led the JV program to some of our best seasons in recent history. His ability to get the guys to buy in to the TEAM game is one reason for his success. The Frosh Soph team welcomes a new coach to the Venice family. Justin Furtado comes to us with a lot of basketball coaching in his background and a knack for team building.
Please help donate to our Booster Club fund so that we can pay for new uniforms, basketballs, tournaments, and all of the other numerous costs associated with running a competitive High School basketball program.
